broomball equipment

 The following items are required for all players participating in a Broomball game:

 Broom

 

 

The broom shall consist of a wooden, aluminum, carbon, composite or graphite handle (with a maximum circumference of 10 cm) that is commercially produced for Broomball and recognized by the Canadian Broomball Federation.  The shaft and the head must be made by the same manufacturer and must match as commercially produced.

Shoes

 

The broomball shoes shall be designed for the wearer's, and the other player's safety.  They shall be worn by all the player’s, coaches, trainer or other technical personnel. 

Ball

The ball shall be spherical, composed of a supple rubber envelope or similar matter as commercially purchased.

Protective Equipment

  • Gloves

  • Shin guards and knee pads

  • Elbow pads

  • Helmet (CSA approved hockey helmet)

  • Protective cup

Goaltender’s Equipment

A goaltender wears the same equipment as any other player as well as the following items:

  • Blocker glove on the hand that holds the broom

  • Equipment to protect the trunk and arms

  • Protective girdle

  • CSA approved one-piece mask OR helmet with attached mask
